Saunatomy is a sauna designer. We collect as little as it needs to work, we do not sell personal information, and we do not run advertising or analytics trackers.
Without an account
The designer runs in your browser. Your current design is kept in your browser's local storage so it is still there when you come back. It is not sent to us unless you save it to an account. You can remove it by clearing this site's data in your browser.
With an account
- Your email address and a password. We store the password only as a salted scrypt hash, never the password itself.
- A sign-in cookie. One strictly necessary, HttpOnly cookie keeps you signed in. We store only a hash of its value.
- Saved designs (Studio members): the design settings and the name you give them.
- Membership records: whether your Studio subscription is active, and the Stripe references needed to manage it.
- Security records: counts of recent sign-in and email attempts, kept briefly to stop abuse.
Who processes it
- Fly.io hosts the site and its database, in Toronto, Canada.
- Stripe handles payment. Your card details go to Stripe, never to us. Stripe's privacy policy applies to what you give it.
- Resend sends our account emails (confirming your address and resetting your password).
We use these providers only to run the service, and only with the information each one needs.
We email you only about your account: confirming your address and resetting your password. Stripe sends payment receipts. We do not send marketing email.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and designs until you delete your account. The site keeps daily backups for seven days, so deleted data leaves the backups within a week. If you ever paid for anything, a deactivated billing record and order references are kept so refunds and disputes can still be handled, and so we can meet tax record-keeping rules.
Your choices
You can see and change your details in Studio → Account, and delete your account there at any time. Deleting it removes your saved designs, sign-in sessions and recovery key immediately. To ask what we hold about you, or to correct it, email support@saunatomy.com.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so on this page and, for account holders, by email.
